Some of us demonize politics and general world leadership. However, if you are a devoted Christian or a practicing Muslim then you have to respect leadership and the processes used to get leaders. It is through politics that we get leaders. Here is what the bible says about leadership.

According to the English Standard Version Bible, you are directed to respect the present leadership. The Bible in the book of Romans chapter thirteen, every leader comes from God and deserves respect. The scripture warns that whoever resists leadership resists God's directive. Such people will be judged.

In the book of First Peter chapter two, you are instructed to obey all human institutions. Undoing so, you praise God and foster peace and unity.

The Bible continues to explain the importance of political institutions in Romans chapter thirteen. In this section of the holy book you are given two things that you must pay to the earthly government. Respect and taxes are needed from you. Pay taxes and respected the current leadership.

In Matthew chapter twenty two the Son of God directs us to render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's.

From the above examples, it is clear that we should obey leadership despite the different political views. We should also pay taxes, work hard to be productive, and foster peace.
