As he commenced his Sunday tour of Kisii county today on October 3rd, Deputy President William Ruto was today at Deliverance Church, Kisii Town branch where he joined its congregants for a fellowship and blessing of his day.
The DP who had been invited to Kisii county by Deputy Governor Joash Maangi and South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro couldn't hide the fact that he was indeed amazed by the magnificent church building he was sitting.
Upon taking the microphone to address the congregants, he started by noting that the bishop of that church had done an amazing job for God's people.
"You have a wonderful church and I regret that I never made a contribution to this building but it's never too late," he admitted.
He then went ahead to say that he is a product of prayer and giving and will never stop doing good whenever he can.
That "I am a product of prayer and giving and if there's one thing that God has taught me in politics, it's the art of giving. I didn't learn to give and the art of giving while in church but rather in politics."
For that reason, he praised the church bishop for having seen into it that such a wonderful sanctuary is built for the worshippers something which is not common.
He then announced that "I regret that I never contributed to it but today I have one million shillings as my contribution."
He didn't stop there but rather went ahead to say that "I'm sure you have heard that I rare chickens and sell eggs, right? I know you read newspapers and I bet you've read about it somewhere that niko na kuku na mayai."
"After selling some, nitapanga nitume huyu kijana alete another one million because I'm truly blessed from what I've seen in this great sanctuary," he said sparking laughter.
