Drinking alcohol has been one of the most discussed issues amongst Christians today. Some people are saying that God does not allow Christians to drink alcohol hence that is a sin while others argue that the Bible does not mention drinking alcohol as a sin. Below are some Bible verses that clarify whether drinking is or not a sin.
The book of Genesis 9:20-26, tells the story of Noah who planted a vineyard and started drinking win. The results were that Noah got naked after too much drinking and later cursed his son Ham who saw him naked and refused to cover him. 1 Timothy 5:23 says "Drink no longer water but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thine often infirmities. Proverbs 31:4-5 says "It is not for Kings, O Lemuel, not for Kings to drink wine, not for rulers to crave beer, lest they drink and forget what the law decrees and deprive all the oppressed of their lives.
Drinking alcohol is not bad but too much of it should be avoided.
