Do You Feel Like Giving Up In Your Prayer Life? Here Are 6 Ways To Solve The Problem

Prayer is an essential part of the Christian life that should never be neglected. The Bible teaches that we should pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17). However, there are times when may be discouraged from praying. This may be due to delayed answers or being overwhelmed with difficulty to the extent that we lose interest in prayer. In order to pray and not give up, consider the following:

1. Desire fellowship with God

The essence of prayer should not be to ask God to give us our needs. Instead, we should desire to have fellowship with God through prayer. This helps to build our faith in God as well as enhance our relationship with him.

2. Pray according to God's word

Using God's word as a tool for prayer is another effective way to conduct prayers. This may involve praying in line with the scripture or making mention of several verses in the bible to back up your prayer.

3. Speak in unknown tongues

This is also referred to as speaking in tongues. It can also be termed as praying in the spirit. When you pray in unknown tongues, you are uttering mysteries that God only understands. This helps to make your prayers effective since you are praying in line with the Spirit of God.

4. Have the proper motive

Your intention for praying also determines the extent you will go in prayer. If your only aim is to ask God to provide your needs, your prayers will often be short and less effective. However, when you set your mind to seek God in your life, your prayers will be more effective.

5. Pray with others

In Matthew 18:19-20 Jesus described that where two or three are gathered in his name He is always present. In addition, praying together brings about unity and makes it possible for everyone to be strengthened in prayer. In the early church, the believers would meet daily to break the bread as well as pray together. This made the church to grow.

6. Ask God for strength

Finally, if you feel like giving up in your prayer life, you can ask God to give you strength. God will strengthen your prayer life so that you can be in constant fellowship with him.
