Benefits That Abraham's Circumcised Male Descendants Will Receive from God

Abraham, initially called Abram according to the Holy Bible, is considered as father of faith. This is due to his willingness to meet God's demands. The whole of Genesis Chapter 17 talks about God's covenant with Abraham to make him and entire of his descendants a great nation.

While making a covenant with God, Abraham was promised to have many descendants and his descendants to inherit the nation. He was also promised to be protected from all his enemies and bless him. For every covenant, there must be an agreement to be sealed.

Abraham was therefore instructed by God to be circumcised, his descendants and all his slaves. Genesis 17:11 "and you shall be circumcised in the flesh of your foreskins, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and you."

However, God sent a warning to all Abraham's male descendants who would not be circumcised to have broken His covenant with Abraham. Genesis 17:14, "and the uncircumcised male child, who is not circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin, that person shall be cut off from his people; he has broken my covenant."

Abraham himself was circumcised by his wife Sarah aged 100 years old. This was in the fulfilment of his covenant with God.
