On Saturday, October 29, 2022, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi traveled to Kakamega County.
Only two days had passed since Mudavadi's swearing-in ceremony following his appointment to the Cabinet by President William Ruto.
At Bukhungu Stadium, he attended the Bishop Philip Sulumeti, Bishop Emeritus of the Kakamega Diocese, 50th anniversary celebration.
"At the Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega, I participated in the 50th anniversary celebration of Bishop Philip Sulumeti, Bishop Emeritus of the Kakamega Diocese, Mudavadi remarked.
He has also mentioned how important Bishop Sulumeti was to the pastoral life of the church, particularly in Kakamega.
"To commemorate the day, we honored a spiritual doyen who was vital to the pastoral work of the church, particularly in Kakamega and the greater Kisumu Metropolitan.
Bishop Sulumeti committed his life to guiding the populace's spiritual life.
The Bishop Sulumeti Consensus Committee's report, which he presided over, "opened the door for the accord at the National Constitutional Conference in 2004," he continues.
