Murder is the act of taking away someone's life in a manner that is against the law. Murder is considered as an evil act in most African communities and in all the religions.
Christian religion for example warns its followers against killing as Exodus 20:13 says "You shall not kill". Today, we will address special tradition that is performed by Kalenjin community once a person gets murdered.
Our case study is the recent unfortunate murder of world record Marathon holder Tirop who was murdered by her alleged husband. Today, elders gathered at the crime sport to perform some cleansing.

According to the tradition, a spot where a person is killed becomes defiled and elders are summoned to cleanse the place to peacefully release the spirit of the deceased.
After this process, people can just come and continue to live in that place without fear. Our sincere condolences to the family of Miss Tirop. May justice be found.
