Reason Why Pope Is Dressed In Red As Body Lies In Vatican

The entire Catholic church in the world is mourning after she death of the former Pope Francis Benedict sixteen. He had earlier been feeling unwell due to old age as his health had bee failing in the recent past.

The body of Pope is lying in state at Vatican city where residents and faithfuls are going to pay their last respect to him ahead of a burial ceremony. He is dressed in red robes which have a very special meaning in the Catholic church.

From our research from various documents in the Catholic library, Red is a symbolic of passion and blood. The robes are mainly worn during the festival of martyrs, good Friday, palm Sunday and during the Pentecost.

The cardinals and the pope normally wear the red robes as a symbol of devotion to the church. This is symbolic to show their blood which they would have shed for Christ and the church. Red is also won by children during the confirmation ceremony to show their passion for Christ.

The body of Pope is now ready for viewing by the members of the church who will be guided by the team leading Preparations for the burial. Please leave your message of condolence in our comments section below.
