CS Kithure Kindiki Asked To Move Christmas Holiday To 27th December Due To The Following Reasons

Christmas is typically observed on December 25, every year in Kenya by those who think that is the day when Jesus Christ was born. Analyst Stephen Mutoro, however, has influenced Kenyans' responses on social media after writing an open letter to Interior Cabinet Secretary Prof. Kithure Kindiki demanding that the celebrations be moved from December 25 to December 27.

Mutoro has asked CS Kithure to take into account the constitutional provision that says a public holiday must be held on the next day, which is Monday, if it falls on a Sunday. In any event, it should be carried forward to the very next day if the very next day is a public holiday. As a result, Christmas Day will be observed on Wednesday, December 27, 2022, rather than the traditional Christmas Day on December 25, which will fall on a Sunday this year and be followed by a holiday on Monday. On his official Twitter account, expert Mutoro expressed the following thoughts.
