Church Should Steer Clear of Politics, Unite and not Divide

As we approach the 2022 elections, we have witnessed politicians using every possible means to reach out to the electorate.

From tribal groupings to efforts to identify with available religious organisations, politicians have intensified their vote hunting skills In some instances, church leaders have generously hosted them.

some are keen on giving consultancy services at undisclosed fee to interested politicians on how to effectively approach the congregations.

The temple is progressively transiting from a house of prayer to a market place. A section of Muslim clerics a bishops has offered to mediate in talks to unite President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto.

While unity should be encouraged and peacemakers embraced, the timing and motive of the talks raises more questions than answers.

In Biblical times, church leaders were highly respected. They provided leadership in prayer ministry and in anointing of the sick. However, nowadays the church is compromising its values and basic principles.

There is need to awaken the anxiety of all who prize the pure biblical principles on true worshiP.
