ACK Bishop on The Spot For Allegedly Eyeing Wife of a Junior Cleric

ACK Archbishop Jackson Olesapit(centre)

A nasty scuffle has rocked the administration of the Anglican church of Kenya in Nairobi County after a junior cleric raised concerns of the manipulative tendencies of a senior bishop in charge of the Nairobi diocese, where his wife works, for allegedly pestering her lawfully married wife for an epic 11 years period without surrender.

According to Canon Jane Nyaguthii Mwangangi, wife to the aggrieved bishop and the Vicar at ACK Saint Barnabas parish in Lang'ata, she revealed to the media that the rogue bishop started making advances to her as early as 2011 while in a retreat in Kirinyaga despite having clear knowledge that she was married to another ACK cleric, reverend Japhet Kathenya.

The victim who has now sought the intervention of ACK Archbishop Dr. Jackson Olesapit, FIDA and the police further disclosed that the unethical bishop tried on several occasions to handle her indecently on the course of duty but to no avail.

In the latest attempt, Canon Nyaguthii claims that on June 13 2021 when Bishop Waweru visited her Saint Barnabas Church, he allegedly pressed her pretending to remove a strain on her attire.

"...The bishop has resorted to humiliation and intimidation after failing in his advances". Nyaguthii told the media.

On another occasion, Canon Nyaguthii claims that Bishop Waweru in June 1st 2016 while she was still attached to her former work station, Saint Mark's Church in Westlands grabbed her and tried pushing her down to the sofa. She however fought back by screaming and allegedly hit bishop with her elbow earning her freedom in the process.

She recorded the matter with the police under OB number 30/8/8/2016 but no action was taken there after against the implicated bishop.

A distressed Nyaguthii through the federation of women lawyers in Kenya(FIDA) have now warned the bishop against making further unwarranted advances or seeking favours and continued harassment on the victim.

The matter is equally being handled by the DCI though at a snail speed.
