The Vatican on Monday announced that the Catholic church will not at any point bless unions of same-sex (homosexual) marriages.
Justifying their decision, the Holy See stated that homosexuality was just but a choice among the parties, but will not in any way be recognized.
"It is not licit to impart a blessing on relationships or partnerships, even stable, that involve sexual activity outside of marriage, as is the case of the unions between persons of the same sex," read the statement in part.
The Vatican further maintained that showering blessings to the same-sex unions would portray the church as supporting and encouraging what God never ordained.
However, the statement at the same time maintained that it will not hold its blessings to the homosexuals who live in line with what pleases God.
The statement comes as a blow to what many had expected, given that Pope Francis had a soft talk about the LGBTQ, raising hopes that he could okay homosexuality.
