This is after the recent discovery of unmarked graves. These atrocities happened in the 20th century where it is believed the Catholic church-owned residential schools might have taken part in the killing of more than 4,000 children from indigenous communities.
These findings are creating a lot of tension and bitterness across the country. More unmarked graves are still being discovered, with the third and the latest being discovered in a former residential school in Cranbrook, B.C. This site is believed to contain around 182 sets of human remains in unmarked graves.
The first tombs having the remaining 215 unmarked graves were found in Kamloops and another site containing 715 unmarked graves found in Cowessess First Nation. These tombs are speculated to be the cause of ravaging fires that are targeting the Catholic Churches across the nation.
The latest church to go down in flames is the 114-year-old church in Morinville which went down after other unmarked graves were found in British Columbia
