A Zambian Pastor who is popularly known as Bishop Simutwe had his last breath. Reports indicate that the Pastor had 32 wives, 1720 children and 1300 grand children. This confirms that he was having a large family which he took care of it well. He lost his life at the age of 68 while leaving behind a good number of off springs who can now go on with his lineage. Sources confirmed that the pastor was shepherding Zion Church in Choma District of Zambia.

Apart from him, the brother in law who is also late had 47 wives even though only 32 of them survived until his death. The wives of Bishop Simutwe as reported lived happily and gave each other turns to serve their lord, the late husband. The Bishop was finally laid to rest in Siankope village, Choma District which is found along the Masuku road in Zambia. According to the close family member, the church stood with the family both in prayers and support until they laid him to rest in a well decorated casket which was purchased at K28, 000 in Zambian currency.

It has been a debate on whether Christians should practice polygamy or not. Some Christians believe polygamy is forbidden while others believe that it is right for them to have large families. The book of Genesis has always advised human beings to procreate and continue with God’s creation. No wonder many Christians especially pastors do not encourage the use of contraceptives. But with the changing economic patterns, majority has opted for smaller families.
