ODM Will not Dictate Anybody on Who to Vote- Ojaamong

Busia Governor, H.E Sospeter Ojaamong today joined Otimong Sub Parish Catholic Faithful in marking this year's Palm Sunday.

Palm Sunday commemorates the entrance of Christ into Jerusalem, when palm branches were placed in his path, before his arrest on Holy Thursday and his crucifixion on Good Friday.

It thus marks the beginning of Holy Week, the final week of Lent.

The palm branch is a symbol of victory, triumph, peace and eternal life, originating in the ancient Near East and the Mediterranean world.

In many areas around the world, Palm Sunday is used as a time to remember the important and honorable people who have passed away. This is done by placing branches, flowers, and palms at their resting places.

Before the Holy Mass at the Church, Chakol Catholic Parish Priest Fr Sebastian Mang'oli held a brief Mass at Otimong Primary School before leading a procession back to the Church.

The Governor later presented a key Board to the Church Choir following his earlier pledge. He urged the choir to utilize the instrument properly.

Addressing the congregants outside the church compound, H.E Ojaamong called for peace during ODM party primaries tomorrow, Monday, 11th April, 2022.

"Leaders should allow party members to exercise their Democratic rights by chosing the candidates of their choice. Let the best candidates win and for the losers they should accept the verdict of electorate," he said.

He added: " Busia County is more important than an individual. We should not allow the county to plunge into turmoil through incitement. I urge the ODM National Election Board to conduct the nomination exercise in a transparent manner for the outcome to stand the taste of time."

The Church Youth Patron, Johnkevin Otwani thanked the Governor for the donation, noting that prevailing peace in the country is attributed to H.E Ojaamong's good leadership.

Also accompanying the Governor was former Chakol South Member of the County Assembly, Romanus Orengo who called for peaceful nominations starting tomorrow.
