Governor Kiraitu Breaks Silence Hours After Inaugurating Meru County Bishops And Pastors Network

I was greatly honoured this afternoon to grace the inauguration of the Meru County Bishops and Pastors Network which was held at the Full Gospel Churches of Kenya CMC Grounds at Meru town.

The network will provide a forum for bishops and pastors to come together and support each other through sharing and overcoming various challenges encountered in the work of ministering to the Lord.

Through this network, the servants of God will be able to organize and work in structured groups and systems which will make it easy to work with my government in implementing various empowerment initiatives such as formation of cooperatives, saccos and other initiatives to improve their economic wellbeing, their families and their congregations.

I’m pleased to note that more than 90% of the objectives the forum has set out are aimed at transforming the lives and economic welfare of their members across the churches and these are perfectly aligned to the objectives of my administration.

I loud this move by the bishops and pastors in our County because it will help them minister better to our people as they nourish their spiritual life to complement the development work of my administration in the goal of Making Meru Great.

I urge the ministers to teach our people to be visionary and focus on empowering themselves even politically as Meru community, especially through our new political vehicle, the Devolution Empowerment Party (Bus) which we are going to use moving forward to negotiate for political and economic power of Meru and Mt. Kenya East region.

The new network comes at an opportune time when Meru is resurrecting itself politically after a five year hiatus from the national political arena since Bus Party was folded in 2017. I urge the pastors and bishops to pray for our Party so that it can achieve its objective of bringing positive change to the lives of Meru people.
