If you frequently visit social media pages you must have come across pastor Ben Kiengei at some point. He is a Kikuyu gospel musician, a comedian and a pastor who is well grounded to be distracted by neysayers. He is among pastors who speak the truth without fear of contradiction.
One hour ago, he shared a long post talking about sheng language and the gospel of Christ. According to him, he said that if children cannot use another language in studying biology, chemistry or any other subject in school then pastors should not preach to them in sheng language also. He went ahead and said that doctors, teachers, lawyers and even military have their own language the same way the gospel has it’s language called langua franca.
He therefore said that this generation has to be taught the Jesus Christ mode of communication where the church has the mandate to teach and fight any other languages which does not reflect that of the gospel. He went ahead and told the youth not to call his God any other name like “sir jah” apart from the name God.
One of his followers commented laughing at him saying that English has refused to be part of him since he can't speak it fluently. This attracted Kiengei attention where he replied saying English might not be his thing but God’s grace and favour have accepted to be his thing since he is Successful in life. What is your view on this? Is knowing English language a must in life? Let's meet in the comments section and talk about this.
