Origin of Our Blessings And Poverty: Bible Verses About The Power of Your Tongue.

People have wrecked their marriages and careers because of speaking carelessly. No matter how gifted or skilled you may be, no one will endlessly keep up with a poisonous tongue. Hellen Keller said, “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will break my heart.” “Whoever desires to love life and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit - 1 Peter 3:10.”

Be careful not to sabotage what God has in store for you through your cursing tongue. Despite God’s covenants and promises, the Israelites invoked curses on their lives, and everyone 20 years and above died in the wilderness. No word is neutral. Every word you speak is either a life-giving word or a death-producing word. You create your world through your words. Change your words, change your world.

Death and life are in the power of the tongue – Proverbs 18:21.

Not only in this current life, your tongue will determine whether you’ll have eternal life or eternal death. Jesus said, “On the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak, for by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned - Matthew 12:36-37.” Your tongue reveals your heart. Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks (Matthew 12:34).

If you can’t tame your tongue, your religious rituals are useless. “If anyone thinks he is religious and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his heart, this person's religion is worthless - James 1:26.” “Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear - Ephesians 4:29.”

God created everything through the spoken word. The two gifts of immortality bestowed upon us by our Maker is mind and speech. Every time you speak, you are creating your situation. Do you speak life or death in your health? Do you speak life or death in your finances? Do you speak life or death in your marriage? “Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips - Psalm 141:3.”

Be blessed
