Kampala: Pope Francis Has Allegedly Appointed His Lordship Bishop Paul Ssegomerere As Archbishop of Kampala

Holy Father Pope Francis has today appointed His Lordship Bishop Paul Ssegomerere as Archbishop of Kampala. Bishop Paul Ssegomerere will now take over from the late Archbishop Cyprian Kizito Lwanga who died mysteriously.

Archbishop Paul Ssegomerere has been the Apostolic Administrator of Kampala Archdiocese until his appointment as the Archbishop.

Bishop Ssemwogerere was born on 30th June 1956 at Kisubi. He was ordained a priest on 3rd June 1983. On June 4, 2008 when he was appointed Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Kasana-Luweero and was installed as Bishop on 23rd August 2008 by Archbishop Kizito Lwanga.

On Thursday 8th April 2021, he was appointed Apostolic Administrator of Kampala Archdiocese by Pope Francis after the sudden death of Dr. Cyprian Kizito Lwanga who was the Archbishop of Kampala.
