Deputy President William Ruto was speaking Murang'a County where he attended a church service alongside members of Parliament allied to him. Speaking during the event, the deputy president made a political statements touching on church contributions. The DP reminded the church how he has been helping and assisting churches in building and appreciating the Murang'a church for having tremendous progress in church building.
However while speaking in the event, the deputy president louded the church for their efforts towards building the church. The second-in-command touched on the latest projects that the church was doing revealing that he could have given out the money but the law does not allow him to give any contribution.
He said that the law of The Independent electoral and boundaries commission does not allow him to give any donations but promises 5 million shillings once the law is lifted by the IEBC. "Sitoi Pesa, Sheria imekataa, Sheria ikikubali nitatoa millioni tano". The deputy president said which is translated to, "I am not giving the money because the law doesn't allow, once the law is lifted I will give out 5 million shillings".
