Coronavirus; Churches Empty as Catholic Faithfuls Celebrate Palm Sunday From Home

The Catholic mass at Nairobi Holy Family Basilica was led by Bishop Philip Anyoro of the diocese of Kisumu. It was attended by less than 20 people because of the government's directive to barn social gatherings.

Bishop Anyoro urged Kenyans to seek God's hand at this time. He also urged Kenyans to follow government's directives on prevention of coronavirus.

Palm Sunday is always full to the brim but since the government suspended gatherings, most churches were empty.

Bishop Anyoro asked Christian's to seek forgiveness and stay humble as a message of hope at this time most countries are facing a deadly virus.

The celebration was also at The All Saints Cathedral where Provist Rev. Canon Wainaina called on Kenyans to strengthen their relationship with God through prayers at this time of covid-19.
