"Igweee" Ruto Stuns Mombasa Crowd As He Speaks Of Jesus & Disciples

As he opened the Mombasa County Economic Forum at the Mbaraki Sports Club in the morning of today on May 25th, Deputy President William Ruto moved his audience while trying to explain in the simplest form possible how politics about interests before anything else.

A passionately speaking DP who has long been known to be quite familiar with the Bible even related an incident in the holy book, and particularly an interaction between Jesus Christ and his disciples to what he was talking about, saying that everything in this life is about interests.

That after they had abandoned their economic and family duties to follow Jesus Christ, the twelve disciples asked the Son of Man what was in for them for their sacrifices because for humans, everything is about interests.

Quoting a verse in the book of Matthew, the DP "preached" that in His response to the question which came from Peter, Jesus Christ assured the disciples that they stand to be rewarded double, here on earth and enjoy eternal life in God's Kingdom.

On that note, he urged Mombasa residents or rather Kenyans at large not to blindly follow political euphoria and vote in people without understanding what they'll do for them or without agreeing on how their votes will eventually benefit them after the elections.

"Good people of Mombasa, as you'll be going to elect your leaders on the ninth of August, I appeal to you that you must put your interests first.

As you'll be electing people into offices, ask yourselves for every leader you choose how you'll benefit after putting that person in the leadership position because that's what matters.

Even when you go to the Bible, that's in Mathew 19:26 onwards, the disciples of Christ sat down with Him one day and asked Him that "Lord, we have left everything, our jobs, some of us were fishermen and families to follow you! What then will there be for us?"

To assure them that their interests were catered for, Jesus told the disciples that "everyone who has left his houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit Eternal life.""

The DP's "preaching" stunned the seemingly amazed or impressed crowd and in unison, the elated people were momentarily heard chanting that "igweee! Igweee! Igweee!"

This gave him the assurance that his point had reached home and he went ahead to say that "so please come that August, don't just make noises like "tibim, tialala" then end up making the wrong choices or failing on your part to choose people that will work on your interests.

Before voting for someone, ask yourself how you'll benefit after putting that person in power.

Ask yourself how your child will secure a job. How you'll get an NHIF card or access better health services, how you'll secure affordable credit for the growth and expansion of your business and so on."

Watch him speak on the matter at minute 5:30 of the video in the link below.
