Why Bungoma Bishop Was Awarded Head of State Commendation.


Bishop Calistus Barasa Mutua, Principal Administrative Officer in the department of Education, Bungoma county government, is among over 200 individuals honoured by President Uhuru Kenyatta with the coveted State commendation during this year’s Mashujaa Day celebrations.

Bishop Calistus, who is the Bishop of Tabernacle of Praise International Ministry Bungoma, is among individuals honoured with the Head of State Commendation (HSC), civilian division. 

The president issued the State commendations to Bishop Calistus in recognition of his distinguished contribution to peaceful co-existence of the communities living in the cosmopolitan Bungoma County. The Head of State also recognized the role Bishop played in restoring peace and tranquility in the County during the 2007/2008 post election violence. 

Bishop Calistus Barasa is the Chairperson Cohesion and Integration in the County. He is 

Currently, the most decorated Bungoma Bishop in the North of Limpopo and south of Sahara.
