A New Dawn In The Archdiocese Of Nairobi As They Welcome New Archbishop Philip Anyoro

Today the people of Nairobi archdiocese and the Catholic fraternity are overwhelmed by joy as they welcome the new appointed archbishop his grace Philip Arnold Anyoro formerly of archdiocese of Kisumu.

The event is currently going on at St Marys school and being attended by different dignitaries among them Amani National Congress Party leader Musalia Mudavadi and fold Kenya Moses Wetangula and bishops from all over the country.

Archbishop Phillip was born on 18th may 1956 in Tongaren bungoma Kenya. He is the second born in a family of ten children of the late Paul Anyoro and Dina Nekesa. In 1982 , he was ordained deacon for the Catholic diocese and priest on 15th October 1983 by the then Bishop of Eldoret Reverend John Njenga.

On 6th December 1995, John Paul the second appointed him as the first Bishop of kericho diocese. On 20th February 2002, archbishop was appointed as apostolic administrator of the Catholic diocese of homabay upon the resignation of rev Linus Okok Okwach.

Phillip will succeed his Eminence John cardinal Njue who retired on 4th January 2021 upon attaining the official retirement age of 75 years. We wish him all the best in the new appointment.
