The Nairobi County governor Johnson Sakaja's has announced new directives for the churches in the his County. The verdict came amidst pressure from a section of Kenyans who had called on him to regulate churches in residential places.

"I will not close the churches. We want them to spread the gospel on obeying rules and regulations. I will initiate talks with them because we must be reasonable and accommodate each other in the city," he stated.
The Atheist Society of Kenya had previously asked the Nairobi county governor to shut the noisy churches down days after revoking the licences of over 43 clubs and entertainment joints in various residential areas in Nairobi.
But Sakaja has promised to have a talk with the leaders of those churches and come up with a solution on what should be done for the peace benefit of every one in the city. On the other hand he has ruled out overturning decisions on bars and restaurants.
