Catholics are known to follow their traditions to the letter. The Palm Sunday is a Sunday before Easter. It is symbolic of Jesus triumphant entry to Jerusalem city, as recorded in the Bible. Catholic gather and make walks as they sing and pray. It is usually a colourful show in all parts of the world where Catholic church has roots.
This year, similar to last year Catholics are having the symbolic show being dull. The covid 19 guidelines set by the government promotes social distance. For it to be achieved people must stay a distance away from each other.
In Nairobi and it's environment, there is no physical worship. No cogregants are allowed in places of worship. The palm Sunday walk cannot be done online as it is with most of the mass which will be conducted online. Some of the priests and very few individuals will do it to represent the entire population. Christians are called to pray hard for the end of this pandemic which has resulted to a great disruption of the entire worship experience.
