A Bishop Warns Clergy Men from Getting Close to the State House

Retired ACK The Bishop of Maseno West, Otieno Wesonga, has cautioned other clergymen from being too close to the new administration.

He is worried that the close relationship between them and President Dr. William Samoei Ruto may stop the clergymen from pointing out misdeeds of the government.

Mr.Otieno Wesonga is a retired prelate who served the ACK Church at Maseno West Bishop since 1991.

He spoke in Nyangweso Gem constituency on Saturday. Wesonga said what is happening now is what happened after Narc under President Mwai Kibaki.

He said spiritual leaders ignored corruption and bad governance at the time.

"We have been there before." When Narc came to power in 2002 ,we all hoped that it would be an easy ride because we had dislodged KANU from power , "Wesonga said.

This statement comes after a number of church leaders who have been trooping to the state house for prayers after President Ruto said that his administration needs prayers.
