BREAKING NEWS: Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI dies at age 95

The Vatican authorities has announced the death of first pope to resign from office, Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI of the 20th Century.

His death was announced on 31st December in Rome and already the planned funeral Mass will be on 5th January 2023 at St. Peter's Square.

“With sorrow I inform you that the Pope Emeritus, Benedict XVI, passed away today at 9:34 in the Mater Ecclesiae Monastery in the Vatican.” Matteo Bruni, a Vatican press officer director sadi.

According to the source, the Vatican authority has said that his body will be presented in state in St. Peter's Basilica starting January 2, 2023.

“In accordance with the wish of the pope emeritus, the funeral will be carried out under the sign of simplicity,” Bruni reported.

Immediately after the report of his death, the Rome police has cleared St.Peter's Square to enhance the security in the area.

Pope Francis has scheduled to celebrate First Vespers for the vigil of the Solemnity of Mary at the Vatican Basilica.
