Judas Iscariot is the only disciple of Jesus who committed suicide by hanging himself. Judas was among the twelve disciples of Jesus and according to the bible, Judas Iscariot betrayed Jesus when he handed his master to the Chief Priests for only thirty silver coins. By giving Jesus a kiss, he betrayed Him and then left Him in the hands of the Jewish Chief Priests.
The story of Judas Iscariot's death is found in the book of Matthew 27:3-5, after Judas Iscariot realised that he had betrayed Jesus Christ, he tried retuning the thirty silver coins he had been given earlier but the Chief Priests refused to take them back. Judas then went ahead to buy a piece of land and there he committed suicide by hanging himself.
According to the bible, he fell headlong, his body burst open and his intestine came out. It's alleged that Judas killed himself in order to redeem himself from the guilt of betrayal, having betrayed the Son of God. Jesus was then persecuted and later on crucified on the cross where he died and was buried, according to the bible, Jesus then rose again after three days.
