George Luchiri Wajackoyah, the leader of the Roots Party, discussed police uniforms with President William Ruto on behalf of Muslim women. Wajackoyah requested that the Head of State permit Muslim women to wear hijabs. She did this at the Mumias Cultural Centre in Mumias Town, where she was giving thanks to Commissioner Hadijah Nganyi Jumaat of the Commission on Revenue Allocation (CRA).

Additionally, he stated that forcing Muslim women to live the same way as other Kenyan women was impolite. Additionally, the former presidential candidate requested a Friday holiday to honor Islam. He argued that it was unfair that Muslims did not observe a specific day of worship like other religions did.

After Ruto stated that the government needed to provide the appropriate uniforms to the officers and ensure that none of them were required to purchase uniforms with their own funds, Wajackoyah made the request.

Ruto said that he didn't like the fact that officers had to pay for their uniforms themselves and sometimes had to use uniforms that weren't up to par. On Tuesday, January 10, he made these remarks while watching a parade of police constables graduate from Kiganjo Training College. After he put together a team to investigate officer welfare, this occurred.
