Speaking today about the presidential results which are yet to be released, the catholic bishops have urged Kenyans to maintain patience while they are waiting for the IEBC to finalize verifying the presidential votes for Form 34As and 34Bs.

"Patience is a critical virtue that we must have so as to maintain peace and justice." One of the bishops was quoted saying by The Star.

They urged the citizens to give the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission enough time to conduct their democratic rights as mandated to them by the constitution.

While speaking, a bishop named Rotich noted that the IEBC personnel should be of good faith while executing their roles.

"We note that a number of presiding and returning officers have been arrested on suspicion of engaging in fraudulent activities. Let every IEBC staff be warned that they will be held individually responsible for any electoral malpractice they engage in." Bishop Rotich said.

The bishops urged the candidates who are in the race for the top seat to encourage supporters to maintain peace.
