Former Nairobi county governor Dr. Evans Odhiambo Kidero (Above), has sent an appeal to all leaders drawn from Luo Nyanza region allied to the former prime minister Raila Odinga that they should now change their tactics to ensure that Raila clinches the presidency.
Kidero who is eying Homabay county gubernatorial seat has urged the leaders to stop campaigning for themselves and move out of Raila's Stronghold to campaign for him.
Kidero suggested that it was wiser for them to stop channeling their energies and resources to fighting small wars so that they can concentrate in campaigning for Raila.
"During times such as this,we urge leaders especially those from Nyanza Region to assist the ODM party and Rt. Hon. Raila Amollo Odinga by looking for votes out of Luo land." Kidero stated.
"We must not spend much of our time and resources fighting small wars or campaigning for ourselves but pull our energies and networks together to woo voters from other parts of the Country." He added.
He noted that there is need for the leaders to mobilize residents to get registered as voters to increase Raila's possibility of clinching the top seat.
"We have to emphasise the need for our people to acquire ID cards and register in large numbers both as voters and as ODM party members. We shall work with relevant government agencies to ensure that ID cards are issued in all our villages where over 300,000 people have yet to register in Homabay County." He concluded.
