MP Reveals When He Will Sponsor Impeachment Motion Against DP Rigathi Gachagua

Bumula MP Jack Wamboka has revealed he is ready to sponsor a motion to impeach Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

Speaking to Nation, Wamboka said he has collected signatures needed to start the process as he revealed he will give notice of the impeachment immediately after MPs resume from recess next month, February.

The MP further said he is not being used to target the deputy president adding that he wants to start the process of impeaching Gachagua to the National Assembly to discuss his conduct accusing him of advancing the interests of the Mt Kenya region.

Wamboka, an Azimio allied lawmaker said Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi is behaving better than the DP as he accused Gachagua of leaning too much to his Mt Kenya backyard.

“I have collected requisite signatures and immediately we resume next month, I will give the notice of the impeachment motion. I have not been sent by anyone. We cannot have a leader who is disenfranchising all Kenyans. Musalia is behaving better than the DP,” said Wamboka.

MP Wamboka had threatened to sponsor the impeachment motion as he accused Gachagua of pushing the interests of one community at the expense of others.

“Every time Gachagua opens his mouth, you wonder whether he is the Deputy President of Kenya or he is the Deputy President of the Kikuyu republic,” added Wamboka.
