"Raila should be disqualified from vying for presidency" Party leader files a petition in court

There are many changes in the political world as the country prepare for the 9th August 2022 general elections.

Political leaders across the are in a rush to hunt for votes so they can gather maximum votes as possible in the coming general elections.

The Thirdway Alliance Kenya party leader Ekuru Aukot wants the court to direct the electoral body IEBC not to allow Amani National Congress party leader Musalia Mudavadi, Orange Democratic Movement party leader Raila Omollo Odinga and WIPER party leader Kalonzo Musyoka to vie for the Presidency.

A section of the petition reads that these party leaders should not be allowed to vie for presidency nor deputy president seat.

"The Act recognizes the entitled persons and grants them both a generous retirement package and an obligation to serve as advisors to the government and the people of Kenya. The advisory role as stipulated under section 8 of the Act is not optional and the relevant persons are obligated to serve as advisors throughout their lifetime. This privilege is not available even to career civil servants," the petition reads
