Orange Democratic Movement Secretary General Edwin Sifuna has fired back at communication strategist Dennis Itumbi responding to a post Itumbi shared calling on him to help a young girl from Siaya County. According to reports, the girl is said to be in need of almost one million in order to undergo a tumour surgery.
Itumbi went ahead urging both of them take action and do something for the girl given that she comes from their region where they are leaders. According to Itumbi, charity begins at home and they should start by helping their constituent.
Itumbi who is a close ally to the deputy president went ahead and asked sifuna to assist the young girl instead of concentrating on lecturing him on what to tweet and what not to share on social media.
“Ndugu @Orengo_james you surely can do something for a family at home. @edwinsifuna instead of trying to tell me what I should tweet about and what I should not, tell Oburu Odinga to act. Humanity and touching a life at home. Tafadhali”, he said.
However, Itumbi’s sentiments were not welcomed positively by the ODM secretary general who bashed Itumbi accusing him of taking advantage of the girl’s situation for personal interests.
According to Sifuna, they tend to help everyone across the country in regardless of which region or tribe they come from hence it was so unfortunate for Itumbi to use the girl’s condition for cheap political stunts.
