Drama in UDA Camp After DP Ruto Postpones Crucial Event in the Rift Valley

Deputy President William Ruto on Friday abruptly postponed a meeting he was scheduled to hold with candidates from ten counties in the Rift Valley region, who are seeking UDA party tickets in the next general election. Dr. Ruto has been using the residence to meet various delegates visiting him from various parts of the country. The announcement was made on Thursday by the party's General Secretary, Ms Veronicah Maina.

"The party has announced the postponement of the meeting which was scheduled to take place on October 26. We will announce the new dates for the meeting soon," said Ms Maina.Trouble in UDA as Original Owners Want Back Ruto-Linked Party

Delegates invited from the session were expected from Bomet, Kericho, Nandi, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo Marakwet, Baringo, Samburu, Turkana, West Pokot and Trans Nzoia counties.

The move comes amid growing concerns among party supporters over whether the nomination process will be free and fair. During a recent six-day visit to the Coast, Dr Ruto held a meeting with candidates from the area. At the meeting, he assured them that there would be no preferences during the exercise.
