Has Former State House Insider Quietly Decided To Retire After Being Hounded Out Of Office?

Since the takeover of power by President William Ruto, a lot has happened at State House. The appointment of new State House Controller Katoo Ole Metito, is the perhaps the biggest of them all.

The appointment of the former Kajiado South MP marked the end of Kinuthia Mbugua's five year tenure.

The former Nakuru Governor had been a serious power broker at the seat of power since his appointment in 2018. With his position coming with too much clout and influence, Mbugua was one of the most powerful men around Uhuru at the time.

But with the former Adminstration Police Commandant hounded out of office immediately Dr Ruto took over power from Uhuru, little or nohninh has been heard from him since.

For the man who had spent nearly his entire professional life as a civil servant, his exit from the public eye is very low-key.

Though he is way past the retirement age, there are those who feel that he deserves good treatment for his remarkable service to the country. But for Mbugua, this could be the time to wave goodbye after almost five decades in the public service.
