Kiambu sen. Kiamani Wamatangi has officially announced the choice of his running mate, according to press sources this afternoon.
According to insiders, Wamatangi has chosen Rosemary Njeri, a well-known Gatundu tycoon, as his preferred running mate.
Njeri is a reknown and well-established businesswoman in Gatundu.
Several political heavyweights have entered the Kiambu gubernatorial contest, including Moses Kuria, William Kabogo, Wainaina, the incumbent Nyoro, and Kimani wa Matiangi.
A lot of these leaders are members of the Kenya Kwanza coalition, and a heavy blow is predicted on the scheduled day.
Surprisingly, Kenya's vice president, William Ruto, has stayed out of the contest, allowing the famous leaders to determine how to proceed.
The momentous declaration comes only days after Ruto chose Rigathi Gachagua as his running mate, leaving many in the dark.
Raila's choice of Martha Karua as his chosen running partner has heightened interest in the presidential contest.
