The race to succeed the retiring incumbent President Uhuru Kenyatta is taking centre stage as the country prepares itself for the fourth coming general elections to be held next year. It has to be noted that incumbent President Uhuru Kenyatta is serving his last term in office as per the new Constitution that allows one to serve for a maximum of two terms only. With incumbent President Uhuru Kenyatta being first elected during the 2013 general elections and subsequently re-elected again during the hotly contested 2017 general elections for his final term.
Deputy President Dr William Samoei Arap Ruto and the Orange Democratic Movement party leader Hon Raila Amolo Odinga are the favorites to succeed the retiring incumbent President Uhuru Kenyatta. Kalonzo Musyoka's close ally, former Deputy Speaker, Farah Maalim revealed that in the event the presidential contest is between DP William Ruto and Hon Raila Amolo Odinga, DP William Ruto will win hands down.
