Renowned Political Analyst Mutahi Ngunyi, has now responded to Constitutional Lawyer Ahmednassir Abdullahi after he asked Suna East Member of Parliament Junet Mohammed to respect President William Ruto when giving address.
"Address H.E Ruto using his appropriate title. Show some respect...please," wrote Ahmednassir on his Twitter page.
However, responding to the lawyer Ngunyi said that it was in the social contract of Kenyans to respect the Head of State.
According to Ngunyi, one commands respect and not ask for it. He also said that we should 'not do to Ruto what we did to Uhuru' by asking for respect.
"My friend @ahmednasirlaw, you are wrong. You cannot ask @JunetMohamed to respect Ruto. You command respect. You do not ask for it. But we must respect the office that Ruto occupies," said Ngunyi.
This came after Junet addressed the Head of State using his surname where he said that he could do nothing had Azimio opted for demonstrations rather than consultations.
"Whereas we've planned no demos, it is important to remind Ruto that even if that was the case, he still would have done nothing about it," said Junet.
