Deputy President William Ruto is a man in the spotlight after a powerful politician from his Rift Valley backyard launched a scathing attack against him revealing why he is to blame for the regions dwindling economic fortunes.
According to Stephen Tarus, a former Kenya High Commissioner to Australia who also worked as an Internal Security Assistant Minister, William Ruto was the man responsible for the region's lack of development as he has been oppressing the dwellers in his stronghold.
While addressing a mammoth crowd that had gathered to welcome former Prime Minister Raila Odinga who is popularizing his Presidential bid in the region, Tarus accused Ruto of taking money from cereals and denying to pay farmers what was rightfully theirs.
"I am stating the oppressed people, without fear, without doubt, because when you kill a people's economy, you have only one interest, to oppress them. When you refuse to pay farmers and you take all the money from cereals, you have only one objective; to kill them," he claimed.
Tarus further poked holes at Ruto's appointments to powerful government positions as he claimed they were based on favoritism rather than merit which had also seen careers of promising figures in the region collapse.
