Kilifi county governor Jeffa Amason Kingi has criticized politicians who oppose his move to form the Pamoja African Alliance (PAA) party, saying it is his main plan that will enable him to win the presidency by 2027.
Mr Kingi, who is ending his second term in office this August has said the party was backing ODM leader Raila Odinga's bid to win a majority of seats in the August 9, 2022 general election.
"We support Raila on condition that he must comply with our conditions. If he goes against our wishes, we will ask him questions. This time we have our party and we will not support other parties, ”said Mr Kingi.
He was speaking at the Matanomane commercial center in Ganze constituency where he stressed that the formation of the PAA party was the beginning of his journey to enter State House in 2027.
"I want to tell Kilifi residents and Kenyans that I am not going anywhere. The journey to enter State House in 2027 has begun with the creation of the PAA. It is amazing that the politicians who oppose me are the ones who have been pushing for the formation of the Coast Party, ”he added.
The governor has been criticized by some politicians in the Coast region for stirring up divisions by promoting the uprising against ODM which is very popular in the Coast region.
