Tana River Governor Dhadho Godhana was faulted by the High Court to return his Deputy Governor on the pay roll after the two differed and efforts to reconcile them bore no fruits. Mr Salim Kea Batuyu the Deputy Governor and staff attached to his office have been going for some months without salary.
In the ruling on an application filed by Mr Batuyu's lawyer, the Court sort from the Governor and County Secretary why they have refused to honour court orders to return back the Deputy and his staff on the payroll? The Governor failed to convince the Court to justify his Governments actions that has caused the DG pecuniary embarrassment.
The Governor threw in the towel after the. Humiliating experience in the dock and at least was humbled by the court directives. This month the DG and his staff are expecting a boom when the County Government will reinstate their pay plus arrears.
The county has also promised to return the official vehicles they confiscated from the DG. This means Mr Batuyu will no longer be the common Tom, Dick and Hurry in proboxes and other junk vehicles which he has been using since the orgy of falling out with Boss started.
The case continues. But whether this will mark the beginning of a new era or not only time will tell.
