Kileleshwa Member of the County Assembly Hon. Robert Alai has ridiculed President William Ruto for allegedly putting away his wedding ring after ending his travels from European countries.
Alai, a critic to President Ruto's Government, claimed that the ring was used to convince the European countries on matters politics.
"Ametoka kwa wazungu akatupa wedding ring. Awuoro, wedding ring for Political convenience" said Alai. The message can loosely be translated into English as: " He has come from the whites and decided to throw away the wedding ring. The wedding ring for Political convenience,"
On Wednesday, January 4, 2023, President Ruto held the first interview with the media team to address the critical issues in his government after he took over from President Uhuru Kenyatta.
While addressing a number of issues, the President appreciated Kenyans for maintaining a peaceful election, adding that, they showed the world how politically mature they have become.
Ruto, while addressing on the current hardship Kenyans are going through under his government, noted that decisions were made three years ago by the previous government and his move to remove all subsidies is for the betterment of the country and the people.
President Ruto dismissed the speculations that were being aired by the Opposition on the dangers of GMO food products importation into the Country. He said a number of Countries from the West and in Africa, hinting out, South Africa use GMO and no deaths or illnesses have been reported.
On the Hustler funds, he said, it was passed at the Parliament, adding that a few of the remaining formalities are scheduled to happen in February when they will be presented at the Parliament House. He also noted that, the Hustler Fund will be captured in this year's financial budget.
