In a move that can be seen to be countering ODM leader Raila Odinga's planned parallel Jamhuri Day celebrations on Monday 12 December 2022, President William Ruto's government has announced goodies to all Kenyans who will be attending the event.
According to the information shared by newly sworn PS Interior Raymond Omollo, the government has now announced that in the spirit of the new Technology and Digital Economy theme for this year's 59th Jamhuri Day celebrations, the National Celebrations Committee has announced free technology scholarships for certification courses for any eligible adult attending the celebrations in person at the Nyayo Stadium on Monday.

This the government says aims at making Kenya the top talent of the world and the region in the technology and digital economy.
Chief opposition leader Raila Odinga had vowed to hold parallel Jamhuri Day celebrations at Jacaranda Gardens in Embakasi in Nairobi.
