According to Makori who made his statement on Twitter, Kuria ditched Dr Ruto and associated himself with Raila and president Uhuru Kenyatta after the lawmaker made the latest remark on 2022 succession politics.

He quipped that the vocal Gatundu South MP was now a supporter of 2018 handshake between Uhuru and the ODM chief.

"Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has officially dumped DP Ruto and Tangatanga. He's now fully behind President Uhuru Kenyatta and PM Raila Odinga..," read Makori's tweet.

This comes after after Kuria, who is still recuperating in Karen Hospital sent a coded message of good to the head of state as he prepares to exit power and proceed for retirement next year. He wished the president a happy Mashujaa Day and reminded her that Kenyans ought to thank him for serving them for ten-year stint.

However, from the MP's statement, we cannot decode whether he was hinting at shifting political camp or not by simply issuing the kind statement to Uhuru.

Kuria has been a close associate to Dr Ruto since 2018. Nevertheless, though he was still claiming to be part of individuals constituting Hustler Nation, he had decided to form his own political party Chama Cha Kazi. He has announced that he would use the same to bargain for formation of a coalition with 2022 presidential candidate who would meet conditions of Mt Kenya region leaders.
