Martha Koome has spoken only hours after overseeing the swearing-in of the thirty-four judges of the Supreme Court. According to Martha koome, she has been forced to speak after questions have been raised about her silence over the matter.
First Matha Koome has first revealed that she was not present during the submitting of the names since it was Maraga who was at the helm of the Judiciary. She however made her stand known to the president by asking her to swear to the remaining judges to lighten the burden of the backlog of cases at the courts.
In a statement sent to newsrooms and media houses, she asked the president to respect the judiciary which is an independent entity mandated at carrying out its tasks without interference from external forces including the judiciary. She now demands the immediate swearing of the other six judges.
