A few months ago,the IEBC Released its schedule for the whole activities ahead of the 2022 general election. Mass Voter Registration was among the activities to be undertaken.
Under the 2010 constitution,a Kenyan citizen will be only registered as voter on attaining 18 years ( with a national Identity Card).
The city Laywer, Sc Ahmednasir Abdullahi has alleged that some officers in the office of the president will hold IDs of central Kenya and Rift Valley to ensure that few people are registered. Through his Twitter account, he said that,"with voter registration starting in October.mandarins in the office of the president will start playing the politics of ID cards...new ID cards for rift Valley, central, Nairobi and NFD will be held up in "administrative snafu" to ensure Voter Registration is suppressed."
The Electrol bodyis set to undertake the process as from October..
What is your view on the allegations made by the city Laywer Sc Ahmednasir Abdullahi?
