After it was announced that there would be no Presidential candidate from the region in the 2022 General elections, Deputy President William Samoei Ruto, Orange Democratic Movement party leader Raila Odinga, and other Presidential candidates have been working hard to popularize their campaigns in Mt Kenya.
However, former Kiambu County Governor Hon William Kabogo has hinted that there may be some leaders who will contend for the top seat in 2022, which has dealt a severe blow to the two Presidential hopefuls who have been camping in the Mt Kenya region.
Hon William Kabogo, speaking on K24 digital TV's late evening show ahead of Mashujaa Day, indicated that he might be one of the top leaders from the Mt Kenya area to run for President, debunking speculations that there would be no candidate from the region.
Hon. William Kabogo made the following statement: "People assume there won't be a Kikuyu or Mount Kenya candidate, which I don't understand because some of us are in the area and may want to run. #MashujaaSpecial."
However, Raila Odinga, William Samoei Ruto, and other hopefuls may not be concerned because they will continue to work hard to gain their own followers, and Raila Odinga may be endorsed by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
What are the possibilities that Raila and Ruto will gain more support from the Mt Kenya region if one of them runs?
