In the absence of President William Ruto, the country is being controlled by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, who has already convened his first important meeting at his office in the Harambee Annex.
The Special Envoy of the United Nations Secretary-General to the Horn of Africa, Ms. Hanna Tetteh, was received, according to information provided by the Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
The country's deputy prime minister (DP) revealed that he had met with Ms. Hanna and her delegation, which also included Stephen Jackson, the UN's regional coordinator, where they spoke about issues impacting the area and reaffirmed the nation's commitment to upholding peace.
"When Ms. Hanna Tetteh, the UN Secretary-special General's representative to the Horn of Africa, called me in my office in the Harambee Annex, I was delighted to meet her. I reaffirmed Kenya's commitment to regional peace and stability to her and the delegation that was with her." Tweeted Rigathi.
